IO-Link™ Devices

Big data is here, ready or not. Users have more sensors and actuators than ever, and they need to talk reliably with PLCs, with no worries about different kinds of data. That's why IO-Link™, from Analog Devices, was created. It allows just one industrial data transmission standard for every sensor and actuator. It is relied on by facilities around the world. No other protocol comes close.

Now it is quick and easy to evaluate IO-Link in the user's next design. Start with the Master Reference Design:

• The 4-Port IO-Link Master is also a development and test system with ports for four different sensors and actuators. Its power supply cube provides more than 200 mA to each port simultaneously; the micro-USB connects to PCs; and it comes with an easy-to-use GUI.

Then, choose one or more of these reference designs:

• Light Sensor: The world’s smallest IO-Link light sensor features integrated sensors for red, green, and blue light, as well as ambient (clear) light, infrared light, and temperature.
• Proximity Sensor: Nearly paper-clip small and using just 150 mW of power, this low-cost IR optical sensor detects even tiny objects over long distances.
• 16-Channel Digital Input: PLCs need more digital inputs than ever to collect all their data. Now Analog Devices squeezes 16 of them onto a tiny PCB, with a high-voltage step-down converter and two serializers.
• Quad Servo Motor Driver: The world’s first IO-Link servo driver is actually four drivers in one, fully replacing up to four temperamental pneumatic actuators. Standard 3-pin headers connect to 5 V motors.
• RTD Temp Sensor: Connect it to the user's choice of 2-, 3-, or 4-wire RTDs via an M12 cable. Users will get accurate temp conversions even at 15 bits, with low power consumption.
