As the graphic on this slide illustrates, the architecture of automotive IVI systems is set to change substantially. In a traditional infotainment system, there are multiple control systems for various applications. For example, radio, video playback, and navigation are controlled by different systems. In recent years, the concept of digital cockpit has been raised, including integrated dashboard, navigation, audio, and video, and higher transmission rates will be required at this time. High-end CPU and storage such as eMMC5.1 and UFS will be needed as well. Many car manufacturers have already put forward a new concept in high-end applications. The idea of Centralize is to integrate all electronic systems into a centrally-controlled platform, covering major components including assisted driving and self-driving systems, electronic rearview mirrors, digital dashboards, audio-visual navigation systems, car networking systems, and more. At this time, a higher-end transmission system and a larger storage unit will be required.
