So, for engineering and industrial applications, Kingston offers two OS-independent devices that are both hardware-encrypted: the Kingston IronKey^™ Vault Privacy 80 External SSD (IKVP80ES), an external SSD with capacity from 480 GB to 1,920 GB and the Kingston IronKey Keypad 200 (IKKP200), a USB drive from 8 GB to 128 GB in capacity. Both drives allow for multi-passwords (Admin/User) which ensure that should a password be forgotten, the other password can be used to retrieve data access. In addition, the Admin has certain privileges that can reset a User password and set a global Read-Only mode to allow sharing without changes to a drive’s contents by malware or user error. For example, this can be set by Admin for either sharing the drive with others (within a location or even different regions) or for ensuring that software loaded on different devices is not altered accidentally or otherwise.
