PTS 0.5 and PST 1.0 PCB Connectors for KNX Automation
Phoenix Contact PTS 0.5 and PST 1.0 PCB connectors provide tool-free, time-saving, push-in connections
Phoenix Contact expands its series of connectors for building automation with the PTS 0.5 (PTS = print terminal spring, referring to PCB connectors) and PST 1.0 (PST = pin strip terminal, referring to pin headers), form factors commonly used for Konnex (KNX) communication. KNX is a field bus in building automation that communicates with system devices, sensors, and actuators via a data rate of 9.6 kBit/s. The structure of a KNX system is decentralized. There is no central device, but rather an even distribution of the system's intelligence across all participants, which are flexible in number.
There are four possible transmission methods:
- Twisted two-wire data cable: KNX Twisted Pair (KNX TP)
- Existing 230 V network: KNX Power Line (KNX PL)
- Radio: KNX Radio Frequency (KNX RF)
- Ethernet (KNX IP)
The PTS 0.5 series is used to connect commercially available J-Y(ST)Y installation cables with a diameter of 0.6 mm and 0.8 mm, which can be connected without tools via the push-in connection and can be loaded with currents of up to 6 A.
- Tool-free, time-saving push-in connection
- Defined contact force ensures long-term stable contacting
- Fast and convenient testing, thanks to the integrated test option
- Clear contact assignments with color coding
- Ideal for bus applications with simple, uninterrupted looping through of potentials
