Available in several package sizes, the fans operate using input voltages from 36 V_DC to 72 V_DC, making them suitable for telecommunications equipment due to their ability to accept these higher-voltage inputs without sustaining damage. Fans specified for use in telecom applications typically carry a nominal voltage rating of 48 volts; however, when operating in battery mode, telecom systems can experience voltages up to 56 volts, which has the potential to damage a standard 48 V_DC fan over time.
