On this slide, a chart comparing the specified maximum pulse power of the 1206 sized CRCW-HP series parts (red) versus that of standard 1206 sized thick-film resistors (blue) is provided. To make this comparison the single pulse capability charts found within the Vishay product datasheets, which allow for up to 1000 pulses, were used. It can be seen that the CRCW-HP series part has much higher pulse capabilities compared to the standard thick-film part. For long pulse durations (from 1 to 10 seconds) the CRCW-HP type with size 1206 can handle 2 to 3 times as much pulse power compared to the standard part. For very short pulse durations (in the 1 µs to 10 µs range), the CRCW-HP with size 1206 can handle 5 to 7 times as much.
