A quick review of the infotainment application is shown on the bottom image. The graphics processor on the right of the image shuttles data into the interface that supports 18 bits of color. Synchronization signals are also being sent from the serializer to the deserializer over the FPD-Link interface and then going on to the LCD display. At the same time, the graphics controller is able to read touch screen information from the display side and that is where the I²C bidirectional control comes into play. This control is being sent over the same set of wires that the video data is being sent in.  Therefore, there is no need for a separate control channel between the host side and the display.
