In today’s high speed networks, the capacitive loading that the SIDACtor presents to the signal is also of some interest. The capacitance of a SIDACtor is dependent on three things. First off, the selected VBO will determine the capacitance. This is a chart of the nominal capacitance of a SIDACtor in the popular C rated MC series. As seen above, when selecting a SIDACtor with higher VBO, the basic capacitance of the device decreases.
