LTC2379-Slide6

The LTC2379’s digital gain compression (DGC) feature preserves the full resolution of the ADC while eliminating the need for a negative supply on the ADC driver. The diagram shown in this slide demonstrates a complete signal chain that implements the DGC. The signal chain digitizes a ±10V true bipolar signal at 18-bits, 1.6Msps using a single 6V supply. The negative supply is grounded on the LT6350 ADC driver, which dramatically reduces the total power consumption of the signal chain while simplifying the design, a unique solution for modern systems. The LTC6655 provides a 5V reference with only 0.25ppmP-P noise, drift of less than 2ppm/°C, and an output voltage accurate to ±0.025%, reducing or eliminating the need for system calibration. Both the LT6350 and LTC6655 are rated for operation across the -40°C to +125°C temperature range to support many automotive and industrial applications.
