Honeywell’s HIH-5030/5031 Series humidity sensors offer value to design engineers due to their reliable, stable, and low drift performance in many demanding conditions. Their stability is ±1.2 typical % RH. Honeywell’s use of capacitive humidity sensing is a very robust, reliable technology which can be used to tightly control or monitor relative humidity in many industrial and medical applications. Also, these sensors offer design engineers flexibility in that their small size often allows them to be installed into smaller applications. Additionally, their low current draw of 200μA allows for use in low-current-drain, low-energy, battery-operated equipment such as wall-mounted thermostats or humidistats that utilize two AA batteries, or sleep apnea machines and Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) machines. They operate down to a 2.7VDC minimum supply voltage, often desirable for many lower voltage applications.
