Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) is used in many areas of video surveillance for security, educational and industrial applications. CCTV video signals are commonly transmitted using coaxial cable in which the center conductor material is made of bare copper. It is recommended for optimum performance in CCTV signal transmission, because a CCTV video signal is a baseband composite video with fairly low frequency components compared to a CATV video signal. The low DC resistance of copper greatly improves the video signal transmission.
