Industrial-Ethernet-Slide2

Ethernet is an electrical protocol, for sending and receiving data, among many nodes of a network. Everyone is familiar with the business office type, also called Information Technology.  Now consider a data network that requires greater interoperability between plant equipment and industrial controls and automation with enterprise applications in harsh environments. That is the Industrial Ethernet, and it is quickly replacing older manufacturing specific networks with the physically demanding environment for an industrial network. Therefore, the hardware and connectivity requirements must also be more rugged.
