To produce satisfactory laminates with a pressure sensitive adhesive construction, time, temperature and pressure are critical during application for the adhesive to do its job. Typically, allow a bond dwell of at least 24 hours before testing the bond line for adhesion strength. After 24 hours, the bond will achieve 80% adhesion strength. Applying the adhesive at room temperature is always best while slightly higher temperatures can actually improve adhesive flow, speeding up the bonding process. Only light contact pressure is required as long as air is not trapped in the interfaces.
