PLS Series Programmable DC Power Supplies

XP Power's PLS series single-output programmable DC power supplies are ideal for use in a wide variety of applications, including component, automotive and aerospace testing, medical, semiconductor fabrication, broadcast, and telecom. Multiple interfaces, including USB, analog, and LAN, are built-in as standard, enhancing the flexibility and controllability of the unit.

There are five voltage ratings in the PLS range offering DC output voltages of 30 V, 50 V, 100 V, 200 V, and 400 V, with a 600 W or 1500 W power rating. The extended range allows a wide variety of voltage and current ratings from a single unit. The units can operate in series, parallel, or both, allowing for higher voltages (up to 800 V) or higher power (up to 6 kW) to be achieved.

Digital rotary controls on the front panel provide convenient adjustment of the output voltage and current. Since they are velocity-sensitive, a slow turn allows fine adjustment to an accuracy of 0.1%. The inbuilt 12-bit D/A and A/D converters allow the units to measure voltage and current with a similar degree of accuracy. This capability saves users the added expense and space of extra measuring instruments.

The rear of the power supply has ports that allow for remote control via USB, Ethernet, and analog control inputs. The USB and Ethernet inputs are SCPI compliant, supporting LabVIEW™ and Interchangeable Virtual Instrument (IVI) drivers.

Remote sense is included to allow use with loads that are located away from the unit. To avoid any damage to the unit, under test (UUT), inbuilt overvoltage protection (OVP), overcurrent protection (OCP), and overpower protection (OPP) limit the output current and voltage.

All models within the PLS series are certified to IEC 60950-1 and IEC 62368-1 (EN/UL/CSA) safety standards. The units are CE-marked in compliance with the EMC Directive 89/336/EEC for Class A products and comply with the Canadian ICES-001 standard.
