Image of VAC Magnetics’ Nanocrystalline Common Mode ChokesVAC Magnetics’ nanocrystalline common mode chokes (CMCs) are used for the filtering of common mode noise. The noise spectrum of power electronics for industrial applications is regulated according to EN 55011 to reduce the electromagnetic interferences (EMI) between devices. Accordingly, it is required to implement EMI filters to attenuate the noise. These filters consist of a network of capacitors and inductors.

CMCs based on nanocrystalline VITROPERM offer high attenuation in compact designs for a wide range of EMI requirements. The broad portfolio of standard types offers solutions for 1-phase and 3-phase applications as well as 4-fold CMCs.

For automotive applications in the DC/DC converter of hybrid and electric cars, a standard series of CMCs in two different sizes is available.
