Image of Toshiba's Extremely Low-Dropout 1.5 A Voltage Regulators The latest technology for image sensors and Wi-Fi chips can be quite power hungry. For example, analog and digital rails need to be low-noise, yet some need to support peak currents up to 1.5 A. Toshiba's latest ultra-low dropout LDOs are great for this, providing great efficiency by means of super low dropout voltage, and can effectively regulate voltage on sensitive power rails.

Toshiba's Nch LDOs provide a great alternative to DC-DC converters if users can take advantage of their extremely low dropout. For example, a 1.05 V/1 A rail can be cleanly regulated from a 1.2 V DC-DC input, and it will provide 95 dB of ripple rejection. Nch LDOs will also save on board space, primarily because inductors will not need to be used.
