RZ/G2L Arm® Cortex® - A55 Family

Renesas' RZ/G2L and RZ/G2LC integrate the functions required for HMI equipment development in a single chip and are the first in the RZ family to feature the Cortex-A55 core to meet the latest customer needs, including AI processing. In addition to improved performance, RZ/G2L can reduce system BOM costs for customers by incorporating sub-MCUs for real-time processing and ADCs that used to be placed as external components. An evaluation kit consists of a SOM supporting the SMARC form-factor and a carrier board that can efficiently evaluate the functions of- RZ/G2L and RZ/G2LC. By adopting the SMARC form factor for the evaluation board, customers can quickly set-up a prototype or proof of concept (POC) environment. In addition, the same form-factor will be used in the upcoming RZ/G2UL and RZ/V2L, enabling seamless evaluation with other products.

Equipped with all functions required for HMI device development, from video input to screen display, RZ/G2L is the top runner in the mass market of 64-bit MPUs that require more processing performance. In addition, for applications that require more advanced AI processing, it is possible to easily migrate to RZ/V2L, which has pin compatibility. This family offers the high performance of the DRP-AI AI accelerator while diverting common software.
