Easy-to-Use Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) Matrix

Anything that plugs into a wall, from a coffee pot to a blade server, needs a Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) designed to the applications power requirements. These power requirements can range from a 10’s of watts, to kWs. So, how do you design the right power supply for the specific application? Where do you start?

For example: 1 kW to >2.5k W is 24 V to 48 V, 350 W to 1 kW is 12 V or 24 V, 200 W to 350 W is 12 V or 24 V, 70 W to 200 W is 12 V to 24 V, USB-C/PD is 3.3 V to 21 V.
