Image of KEMET's Common Mode Toroidal Coils for Three Phase – SCF-X SeriesThe SCF-X series three-phase common mode toroidal choke, from KEMET, a YAGEO Company, is used in power systems to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) and improve the quality of the power supply. It consists of a nanocrystalline metal toroid core around which multiple coils are wound with each coil carrying a single phase of the three-phase power supply. The common mode choke operates by creating an opposing magnetic field that cancels out the EMI. As a result, any EMI generated by the current flowing through the conductors is significantly reduced or eliminated. This helps to improve the overall quality of the power supply and reduce the risk of interference with other electrical equipment.
