Aerospace and Defense
Similar to test and measurement companies, designers of aerospace and defense (ADEF) applications also require wideband parts with ability to detect very low fidelity signals. Most ADEF applications —especially for Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) and electronic-warfare (EW) applications—attempt to detect signals at the lowest possible signal levels, and with the fastest possible acquisition speeds. Such requirements dictate the need for wideband frequency parts to:
- Allow faster hopping across each frequency band
- Simplify overall design architecture
- Reduce bill of material (BOM) of the design
- More flexible frequency plan to eliminate in-band spurs
The figure below shows how the wideband parts simplify the overall architecture of ADEF applications, like a radar. The new wideband parts replace multiple narrowband parts with one wideband part that can be reused across multiple platforms and generations of an application.
Analog Devices’ wideband portfolio offers industry’s broadest selection of wideband parts to allow ADEF designers to pick the right part with the right combination of performance, bandwidth and price.
