ADuM34xE Quad Digital Isolators
Analog Devices' ADuM34xE 5.7 kVrms quad digital isolators provide high robustness to radiated and conducted noise
The ADuM340E, ADuM341E, and ADuM342E are quad-channel digital isolators based on ADI's iCoupler® technology. Combining high-speed complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) and back-to-back monolithic air core transformer technology, these isolation components provide outstanding performance characteristics and meet CISPR 32/EN 55032 Class B limits at 5 Mbps. The maximum propagation delay is 10 ns with a pulse width distortion of less than 3 ns at 5 V operation. Channel matching is tight at 3.0 ns maximum.
The ADuM340E, ADuM341E, and ADuM342E data channels are independent and available in various configurations with a withstand voltage rating of 5.7 kVrms (see Figure 26 in the datasheet). The devices operate with the supply voltage on either side ranging from 2.25 V to 5.5 V, providing compatibility with lower voltage systems and enabling voltage translation functionality across the isolation barrier.
Available are two different fail-safe options by which the outputs transition to a predetermined state when the input power supply is not applied.
The EVAL-ADuM34XEEBZ evaluation board supports simplified, efficient evaluation of the 5.7 kVrms ADuM34xE family of iCoupler digital isolators. It also grants the ability to examine multiple other 16-lead SOIC_W iCoupler digital isolators via the unpopulated U4, providing the user a JEDEC standard 16-lead SOIC_W pad layout and routing appropriate for evaluating supported devices.
The EVAL-ADuM34XEEBZ board features V-shaped grooves between each component (U1 to U4) that allow the user to split the PCB into sections and examine a specific device of their choice on a breadboard or similar prototyping board for ease of use.
