Allegro's A89500 addresses a broad range of automotive and commercial applications and provides a common architecture for both 12 V and emerging 48 V battery systems. It is specifically designed for applications with high-power inductive loads, such as brush DC motors, solenoids, and actuators. The A89500 was Allegro's first 80 V half-bridge gate driver 5.5 V to 100 V operational rating.
Targeting high-efficiency actuators, motors, and digital amplifiers, the A8500 can switch at very high speeds while providing excellent matching. Internal logic prevents the gate drive outputs from turning on at the same time, preventing cross-conduction. Each MOSFET is controlled by an independent logic-level input compatible with 3.3 V and 5 V logic. The A89500 can be placed in a low-power sleep mode by a third discrete input. It requires a single 8 V to 15 V supply to power the gate drivers.
The A8900 enables both redundancy and reduced system footprint in a distributed system architecture using half-bridge topology. This device is offered in an extremely small package, further reducing the area.
