New Product Discoveries - Seeed Grove AI Hat and Trinamic Stepper Motor Driver

This New Product Discovery covers two new boards that have innovative and time-saving features: The Grove AI Hat for Edge Computing from Seeed and the TMC2590 Breakout Board from Trinamic.

Seeed’s Artificial Intelligence Hat is a powerful board for use with Raspberry Pi that can assist with edge computing applications. This board supports functionality with Arduino IDE, Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, and other development environments, and runs on a Sipeed MAix M1 AI Module. Peripherals such as I2C, UART, PWM, and others can be used.

Trinamic’s TMC2590-BOB40 Breakout Board uses the TMC2590-TA high-power gate driver for use with stepper motors. This driver includes patented features that allow users to rapidly prototype their applications and get immediate feedback on motor performance such as:

  • StallGuard2™

High-precision load measurement using the back EMF on the coils

  • CoolStep™

Load-adaptive current control which reduces energy consumption by as much as 75%

  • SpreadCycle™

High-precision chopper algorithm available as an alternative to the traditional constant off-time algorithm

  • MicroPlyer™
  • Microstep interpolator for obtaining increased smoothness of microstepping over a STEP/DIR interface

These two boards from Seeed and Trinamic can help make your prototyping and development stages easier so you can get your designs up and running as quickly as possible.
