Image of VPG Foil Resistors CSM2817 Current-Sense ResistorsThe CSM2817 from VPG Foil Resistors is a two-terminal, surface-mount, current-sense resistor designed to deliver precision in high-current environments. Built using an electron-beam welded construction combining a nickel-chrome resistive element with copper terminals, the CSM2817 ensures stable performance across a wide thermal range.

It supports a resistance range from 1 mΩ to 100 mΩ, with absolute tolerances as tight as ±0.1% and TCR values down to ±50 ppm/°C (for 4 mΩ to 100 mΩ). Its robust design and 5 W power rating make it suitable for demanding applications including automotive current monitoring, power management, instrumentation, and medical electronics. The resistor's low mass (0.082 g) and small footprint (7.1 mm x 4.3 mm) are well suited for compact PCB layouts.

The CSM2817 is tested to key MIL-STD and JEDEC standards for resistance to moisture, thermal cycling, soldering heat, and long-term exposure, offering repeatable results even under harsh operating conditions.
