Image of Altera MAX® V CPLD Development KitThe Altera MAX V CPLD development kit is designed to quickly develop embedded applications, particularly those involving motor control. It includes essential components such as GPIO headers, DC motor headers, switches, and LEDs. This kit supports a wide range of applications, including I/O expansion, interface bridging, power management control, configuration and initialization control, and analog interface control, while leveraging the low-power and cost-effective features of MAX V CPLDs.

With this evaluation board, users can:

  • Develop designs for the 5M570Z CPLD tailored to target applications
  • Interface with external functions or devices using four connectors
  • Create solutions using the capacitor sense push button switches and other push button switches, ideal for applications requiring reliability, durability, comfort, and design
  • Configure the FPGA through a USB Blaster 2 cable
  • Reuse the kit’s board layout and schematic to accelerate designs
  • Start immediately with the free version of Quartus® Prime Lite Edition software, an intuitive, high-performance design tool that supports design entry, synthesis, optimization, verification, and simulation

The kit comes with a complete kit installation package that includes the following:

  • Board design files, containing schematics, layout, assembly drawing, and Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • User guide
  • Example designs: memory, GPIO
  • Board test system (BTS) GUI, power GUI, and clock GUI
  • Golden top project: for pinout assignments management

As an entry-level development platform, the MAX V CPLD development kit evaluates the functionality and features of the FPGA to meet design needs. It includes the board, IP solutions, and FPGA software tools. The board is equipped with general-purpose and motor control headers to connect and test peripherals and accessories, facilitating the evaluation of any design.
