Vicor presents their VI Chip BCM modules. Offered in both commercial and MIL-COTS versions, these converters are fixed ratio, isolated DC Sine Amplitude Converters. These bus converter modules accept a nominal 48, 270, 350 or 384-volts input and convert it to standard intermediate bus voltages of nominal 2 to 48 volts. Significantly smaller in size than standard bus converters, these modules provide switching at fixed high frequency, efficiencies up to 96 percent, and power densities greater than 1000-watts per cubic inch. They offer safety isolation from input to output of 4,242 volts for high-voltage units and 2,250 volts for 48-volt units. They’re ideal as stand alone bus converters for downstream point-of-load converters or additional bus converters.
