Official Rules

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS PROMOTION. A purchase will not improve your chances to win. Many will enter. Few will win.

1. ELIGIBILITY: This promotion is only open to legal residents of the countries in the regions known as EMEA, the United States, Canada, and certain countries in the region known as APAC (in all cases only where permitted by applicable law) who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence as of the date of entry and have a valid university or college/institute of higher education email account. Employees, contractors, and franchisees of Digi-Key Electronics (“Sponsor” or "DigiKey"), its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, contractors, and advertising/promotional agencies, and the immediate families and household members of each of the above, are not eligible to enter or win. A person may not enter on behalf of another person, except in the case of assistance of a person with disabilities. Only one entry per person.
2. HOW TO ENTER: The sweepstakes begins at 12:01 a.m. Central Time ("CT") on August 19, 2024 and ends 11:59 p.m. CT on October 18, 2024 (the "Sweepstakes Period"). You may enter by completing an online entry form at https://www.digikey.com/en/resources/social/back2school. All entries must be received by the end of the Sweepstakes Period.
DRAWING: Nine prize winners will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received. Five winners will receive a $250 USD in credit to use with DigiKey, three winners will $500 USD credit to use with DigiKey, and one winner will receive the grand prize of $1000 USD in credit to use with DigiKey. Credit will be in United States Dollars and where conversion into U.S. Dollars is required the applicable exchange rate will be the exchange rate quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Eastern Edition, on the date of purchase. The odds of winning for each entry are 1/total number of eligible entries received and remaining in the pool at the time of the drawing. An entry that has won a prize will be removed from the pool for the drawing of the remaining prizes. The drawing will be held on or about November 15, 2024, and will be conducted by the DigiKey Marketing Department, whose decision is final and binding. Recourse to the courts is not permitted. Each winner will be notified by email at the email address supplied on the winner’s entry form on or about November 15, 2024. If a potential winner cannot be reached after a reasonable effort has been made 14 business days from the first notification attempt, the person will be disqualified, with an alternate randomly selected from the remaining entries.
Where a potential winner is a Canadian resident, prior to being confirmed a winner they must correctly answer, unaided, a skill-testing question which will be administered by email. If the potential winner fails to correctly answer the potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be randomly selected from the remaining eligible entries.
PRIZES: Each entrant will be eligible to win one of the following three prizes packages:
- $1,000 USD in DigiKey credit (one winner);
- $500 USD in DigiKey credit (three winners); and
- $250 USD DigiKey credit (five winners).
To use the credit, each winner will need to create an account with DigiKey and purchases will be subject to DigiKey’s then-current Terms and Conditions. DigiKey credits have no cash value and are not redeemable for cash. DigiKey credits may only be used to purchase products from DigiKey.
5. ODDS: The odds of winning a prize are 1/the total number of eligible entries received and remaining in the pool at the time of the drawing.
6. GENERAL RULES: Entries generated by script, macro, or other automated means will be void. You will not post, advertise or otherwise promote this sweepstakes on any online website, page, or forum dedicated primarily to the exchange of information about sweepstakes or contests or participate in any commercial contest/Promotion subscription notification and/or entering services – any such entries will void your entry and you may be disqualified at DigiKey’s discretion.
Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual that tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the promotion or website, violates the Official Rules, or acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person.
Sponsor is not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this promotion which may limit the ability to participate or by any human error which may occur in the processing of entries in this promotion. Sponsor reserves the right to modify, terminate, or suspend the online entry form should virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, or other causes corrupt the administration, security, fairness, or proper play of the promotion.
7. PRIVACY: If you do not provide the personal data requested in the entry form, you will not be able to participate in the sweepstakes. Residents of certain countries and U.S. states may have certain rights such as a right of access, modification, correction, and deletion of personal data, among other data subject rights. You also have a right of opposition to certain data collection, under certain circumstances. To exercise such right, as applicable, you may email [email protected]. 8. RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF SPONSOR: No responsibility is accepted for ineligible entries or entries made fraudulently. Sponsor reserves the right to check the validity of the entries and may, in its sole discretion, exclude entrants from the participation of the sweepstake.
Sponsor accepts no responsibility for entries that are delayed or not received for any reason.
Sponsor accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered as a result of entering the Sweepstakes or accepting a prize. This does not apply (i) in case of intentional misconduct and gross negligence, (ii) in case of injuries to life, body or health, or (iii) pursuant to the mandatory liability provisions of the German Product Liability Act or other applicable law. Further, Sponsor can only be held liable for negligent breaches of duty if Sponsor is in breach of a duty that derives from material contractual obligations that are of substantial importance to fulfilling the agreement purpose ("cardinal obligation"). In this case the Sponsor’s liability is limited to the foreseeable damage.
Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the sweepstakes at any stage if deemed necessary in its opinion or if circumstances arise outside of its control.
FINAL PROVISIONS: These official rules are governed by German law. Mandatory consumer rights at place of residence of the participant remain unaffected by this choice of law.
These official rules constitute the full agreement relating to the Sweepstakes. In the event of any conflict between these rules and any of the documents relating to the promotion, these rules shall prevail.
Should any individual regulation or stipulation in these terms and conditions be or become invalid, the official rules in its entirety and the remaining stipulations remain unaffected.
