The VO2223 was designed specifically to be pin compatible to the leading supplier’s power phototriac. The last four digits of the part number have also stayed the same to make the cross reference perfectly clear. Looking at the table showing a few key performance parameters, the VO2223’s trigger current, on-state current and peak voltage is exactly the same as Competitor P. Another key point for the Vishay part is the significantly higher isolation voltage of 5300VRMS versus Competitor P’s 4000VRMS. If a customer needs slightly higher on-state current, the VO2223A features a 1.0A on-state current. With better isolation voltage, the VO2223 provides a clear advantage over the competition. Both Vishay power phototriacs are UL, CUL and VDE certified.
