LTC3863-Slide3

The LTC3863 operates over a wide 3.5V to 60V input supply voltage range that is designed to protect against high voltage transients, operate continuously during automotive cold crank and cover a broad range of input sources and battery chemistries. This part draws only 70µA quiescent current in standby mode with the output voltage in regulation thereby helping to increase the run-time in battery powered applications. The output voltage can be set from -0.4V to -150V and lower depending on the choice of external components. The LTC3863 can deliver up to 3A of output current and requires only a single inductor to complete the circuit. Most competitive solutions require a transformer or coupled inductor to complete the circuit. The LTC3863 drives an external P-channel MOSFET, operates with a selectable fixed frequency between 50kHz and 850kHz, and is synchronizable to an external clock from 75kHz to 750kHz. The user can select from pulse skipping and Burst Mode® operation to maximize light load efficiency. Its current-mode architecture provides easy loop compensation and fast transient response.
