These photos show how most devices are connected to boards. Soldering is the most costly, as it requires stripping and tinning of the wire and then hand soldering. It is also risky, as it requires re-heating the board which can damage the components already mounted. Terminal blocks also require stripping of the wires prior to assembly. In addition, they take up more real estate on the board and cost more than the 9175/6/7 connectors. Additionally, assembling devices using a two piece connector system is costly, requiring termination of both connectors. This makes the 9175/6/7 a great one-piece alternative solution for this application.
