UCH600 Series Convection Cooled AC/DC Power Supplies

XP Power’s UCH600 series convection cooled AC/DC power supplies provide 600 W of power and are designed for ITE, industrial, and healthcare applications. The UCH600 series have medical approval with 2 x MOPP input to output, 1 x MOPP input to ground, and 1 x MOPP output to ground, making them suitable for BF applications and IEC/UL/EN62368-1 safety approval for information technology and industrial equipment.

The convection cooled design of the UCH600 is ideally suited to the increasing demand for fanless power solutions across a wide range of applications, removing audible noise and ingress issues. At the same time, the very low EMI emissions and high efficiency make for simple integration into the end equipment.

There is a choice of four DC outputs, including 12 V (50 A), 24 V (25 A), 36 V (16.6 A), and 48 V (12.5 A) with no minimum load requirement. Each also has an auxiliary 5 V_DC 1.0 A standby output and a 12 V_DC 0.6 A fan output. The input to output isolation is 4 kV_AC, input to ground 1.5 kV_AC, and output to ground 1.5 kV_AC. All models have a universal input range of 90 V_AC to 264 V_AC with no low line derating. Both line and neutral are protected by F12 A/250 V fuses.

Patient leakage current is typically 50 µA. Earth leakage current is typically 80 µA/140 µA at 115 V_AC/230 V_AC. Efficiency at 230 V_AC and full load peaks at 95% with power density up to 9.5 W/in³. Remote on/off provides control of the main output and reduces the input power to 1.5 W when inhibited. All models feature short circuit, overvoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature protection.

The operating temperature range is -20°C to +70°C with full power available at -20°C to +50°C. MTBF is greater than 300,000 hours to MIL-HDBK-217F, +25°C GB. Operating altitude is 5000 m for ITE applications and 4000 m for medical applications. The U-channel UCH600 measures just 8.0” x 5.0” x 1.57” (127 mm x 76.2 mm x 40 mm) and weighs 1.1 kg.

EMC standards include EN55011/32 Class B for both conducted and radiated emissions, IEC60601-1-2 Ed.4.0:2014 for medical equipment immunity, and EN61204-3 for ITE PSU immunity. Safety approvals include CB IEC60950-1 and IEC62368, UL/EN62368-1, CB IEC60601-1 Ed 3.1, ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1, and CSA22.2 No.60601-1:08 and TUV EN60601-1.

Suitable for BF applications with low audible noise through convection cooling, these power supplies are ideal for home healthcare equipment, hospital beds, patient monitoring, imaging, diagnostic, infusion pumps, and dialysis equipment. Additionally, with ITE and industrial approvals, the UCH600 is suitable for robotics, instrumentation, industrial equipment, telecom, and Datacom applications.
