Vicor’s BCM6135 is a high-performance bus converter that efficiently integrates into power distribution systems. It operates from a high-voltage bus (260 VDC to 410 VDC) and generates an isolated low-side bus (32.5 VDC to 51.3 VDC). This compact module in a chassis-mount form factor features a fixed-ratio DC/DC converter and PMBus® commands and controls. It provides low output impedance, low noise, fast transient response, high efficiency, and high power density.
The BCM6135's megahertz bandwidth and low series impedance make it an efficient capacitance multiplier. This allows for a significant reduction in bulk capacitance across the 48 V bus, resulting in smaller and fewer capacitors required by 48 V PoL regulators, freeing up valuable board space.
The BCM6135 module offers flexible thermal management options with very low top- and bottom-side thermal impedances. This ensures efficient heat dissipation, even in demanding applications.
