Texas Instruments' LMR33610, LMR33630, and LMR33640 SIMPLE SWITCHER regulators are easy-to-use, synchronous, step-down DC/DC converters that deliver best-in-class efficiency for rugged industrial applications. These converters can drive up to 1 A (LMR33610), 3 A (LMR33630), or 4 A (LMR33640) of load current from an input of up to 36 V. The devices provide high light-load efficiency and output accuracy in an ultra-small solution size. Features such as a power-good flag and precision enable provide flexible and easy-to-use solutions for a wide range of applications. The LMR33610/30/40 automatically fold back frequency at light-load to improve efficiency. Integration eliminates most external components and provides a pin-out designed for a simple PCB layout. Protection features include thermal shutdown, input under-voltage lockout, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and hiccup short-circuit protection.
The LMR33640, LMR33610, and LMR33630 are pin-to-pin compatible with each other. This minimizes the cost and effort associated with board layout modifications. These devices are available in an 8-pin HSOIC package. The LMR33630 is also available in a 12-pin 3 mm × 2 mm VQFN package with wettable flanks. This device is also available in an AEC-Q100-qualified version.
