Engineered for flexibility, the dual-core architecture supports both lockstep and independent operation modes, enabling deployment across a wide range of mission-critical and safety-oriented systems. With integrated safety features, cryptographic accelerators, and low-latency communication interfaces, the AM2612 delivers a comprehensive solution for industrial automation and control.

The device includes advanced industrial connectivity through dual PRU-ICSS subsystems supporting protocols such as EtherCAT®, PROFINET®, and Ethernet/IP™, alongside a 3-port Gigabit Ethernet switch with TSN and IEEE 1588 PTP for precise time synchronization. Additional features include a hardware security manager (HSM), integrated ADCs, extensive PWM channels, and a rich set of peripherals. On-chip memory includes 256 KB of TCM per core and 1.5 MB of shared SRAM, minimizing the need for external memory and simplifying board-level design for long lifecycle deployments.
