Power Triple Lock Connector System
The New Power Triple Lock (PTL) connector system has been developed for improved power and signal applications.
The PTL connector system from TE Connectivity’s (TE) has been developed for improved power and signal applications with many added customer benefits for performance assurance. The PTL connector system includes 3 in 1 reliability, 4 keying/color options, and 3 housing materials featuring high temperature material with the ability to stand up to 150°C temperatures. The PTL connector system is available in three levels of housing materials with keying/color code to prevent mis-mating on the assembly line: Standard 105°C - natural, purple, blue, yellow; high temperature up to 150°C – light gray; and Glow Wire – dark gray, brown, green, orange.

PBT Standard 105°C Connectors
The PTL connector system includes an extensive family line, ranging from free-hanging and panel-mount receptacles to future products such as board-mount headers to meet your everyday design needs. With its many added customer benefits for performance assurance, the PTL connectors feature centerline space of 6.0 mm, the reduced size giving customers high performance with a functional design.
Key Features
- Audible ‘lock’ latch provides positive feedback when cap & plug are mated, while the ribs surrounding the latch prevent wires from becoming snagged underneath the latch.
- Optional Connector Position Assurance (CPA) ensures that once engaged PTL connector system cannot be mistakenly disengaged
- Optional Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) ensures that contacts are fully seated within the housing and provides an added measure against contact backout
High Temperature 150°C Connectors
The High-Temperature housing material allows applications such as cooking appliances, to be addressed. The thorough approach to fulfilling customer requirements is demonstrated by a true 150°C, high temperature solution. The housing and the contacts are both rated at 150°C instead of 105°C.
Since they are used in all material levels, the TPA and the CPA are both 150°C high-temperature materials. Color coding of the housings allows a quick visual check to ensure that the right material is used in a specific application.
Key Features
- Audible ‘lock’ latch provides positive feedback when cap & plug are mated, while the ribs surrounding the latch prevent wires from becoming snagged underneath the latch.
- Optional Connector Position Assurance (CPA) ensures that, once engaged, PTL connector system cannot be mistakenly disengaged.
- Optional Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) ensures that contacts are fully seated.
- Rated at 150°C for high temperature applications.

Glow Wire Connectors
The Glow Wire (GWT, V0, NF 750C) housing material option that conforms to the flammability requirements of IEC 60335-1 for unattended appliances with connections carrying current of greater than .2 Amperes. Historically a number of methods have been developed to evaluate material flammability and fire resistance. Glow Wire testing is an example of an indirect flame method, featuring a non-flaming heat source applied to a sample. The International Electrical Commission (IEC) established the Glow Wire testing method in 2001 because existing test methods did not cover all ignition sources. Specifically, the Glow Wire test is used to simulate heating effects that may arise in malfunctioning electrical equipment caused by an overloaded connection or component that is overheating.
Key Features
- Meets flammability requirements of IEC 60335-1.
- Audible ‘lock’ latch provides positive feedback when cap & plug are mated, while the ribs surrounding the latch prevent wires from becoming snagged underneath the latch.
- Optional Connector Position Assurance (CPA) ensures that, once engaged, PTL connector system cannot be mistakenly disengaged.
- Optional Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) ensures that contacts are fully seated.

PCB Headers
The PTL PCB Header Assembly is a wire-to-board connection consisting of contacts seated in a housing that mates to PTL Plug housings with contacts on 6.0 mm centers. A complete connector consists of a header assembly, a PTL plug loaded with contacts crimped to wires, an optional TPA device on plug, and an optional CPA device.
Key Features
- Vertical, single-row headers offering 2 through 5 positions for PC board application.
- Tin-plated copper alloy contacts in a high temperature (150°C) nylon housing.
- Rated up to 20 amps, 600 VAC/VDC.
- Audible ‘lock’ latch provides positive feedback when header and plug are mated, while the ribs surrounding the latch on the plug prevent wires from becoming snagged underneath the latch.
- Optional Connector Position Assurance (CPA) ensures that, once engaged, PTL connector system cannot be mistakenly disengaged.
- Optional Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) on the mating plug ensures that contacts are fully seated.
- Rated at 150°C for high temperature applications.

Crimpers, Applicators and Presses
Crimpers, Applicators, and Presses are devices used to join wires to contacts by compressing the crimp portion of the contact.
Key Features
- Designed to exacting specifications – TE 114 Crimp Specifications or industry standards
- Ratchet control ensures complete crimping cycle every time
- Optionally uses advanced locator systems to hold terminal in proper position/orientation
