IPS4260L Quad Low-Side Intelligent Power Switch
STMicroelectronics' monolithic high-speed devices can drive four independent capacitive, resistive, or inductive loads
STMicroelectronics' IPS4260L is a monolithic high-speed device able to drive four independent capacitive, resistive, or inductive loads with one side connect-to-supply voltage. Four integrated diodes clamp the turn-off transients generated by inductive loads.
Built-in thermal shutdown protects the chip against overtemperature and short circuit. In order to minimize the power dissipation when the load is shorted or overloaded, a non-dissipative short circuit protection is implemented to limit the load average current value and contain device overheating. A full diagnostic provides thermal shut down, open-load, and the state of the four power stage channels: each I/O is pulled down in case of overtemperature or cut-off condition of the relative channel. Fault feedback can be detected by monitoring the voltage at the input pin; two diagnostic pins provide information about open-load and thermal shutdown conditions. Cut-off delay time and limitation current value can be programmed by external resistors.
