EVLMG4-500WIBCK Inverse Buck for Dimmable LEDs

STMicroelectronics' inverse buck converter is for dimmable LED applications with MASTERGAN4, HVLED002, and VIPER06XS

Image of STMicroelectronics EVLMG4-500WIBCK Inverse Buck for Dimmable LEDsSTMicroelectronics' EVLMG4-500WIBCK is an inverse buck converter based on MasterGaN4 dedicated to LED lighting applications where minimum size and high efficiency are required. This device embeds two GaN power transistors and a driver in the same package, allowing it to interface directly with any type of SMPS controller. Thanks to the GaN technology and the embedded driver, the converter can be designed with an operating frequency higher than when using conventional MOSFETs. The board is highly efficient and very compact with no heatsinks, allowing users to implement small and light solutions to better address applications with hundreds of watts.

Output power can be up to 500 W at 350 VDC. Converters come with overcurrent, short-circuit, and overvoltage protection. The board works together with a boost stage, generating the input voltage.
