Silicon Labs' SiWN917 provides a low-power network co-processor Wi-Fi 6 IC for ultra-low-power IoT wireless devices using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth®, Matter, and IP networking for secure cloud connectivity. It works in conjunction with an external host processor and is optimal for developing battery-operated devices that need long battery life. The SiWN917 includes an ultra-low-power Wi-Fi 6 plus Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) 5.4 wireless CPU subsystem with power management subsystem, all in a single 7 mm x 7 mm QFN package, thus providing an integrated solution that is ready for a wide range of embedded wireless IoT applications.
The wireless subsystem consists of a multi-threaded processor (ThreadArch®) running up to 160 MHz, baseband digital signal processing, analog front end, 2.4 GHz RF transceiver, and integrated power amplifier. The application subsystem consists of an Arm® Cortex®-M4 with FPU running up to 180 MHz, embedded SRAM, Flash, AI/ML accelerator, and enhanced security engine designed for PSA-L2. The MCU subsystem is dedicated for peripheral and application-related processing, while ThreadArch runs the wireless and networking stacks on independent threads, providing a fully integrated solution for various embedded wireless IoT applications.
Available development tools include SIWX917-PK6031A Pro Kit, SIWX917-RB4338A Radio Board, and SIWX917-EB4346A Expansion Kit. The SiWx917 Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE 8 MB Flash Pro Kit is designed to support the development of wireless IoT devices based on the SiWG917 ultra-low-power system on chip (SoC). The SiWx917 Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth LE 5.4 Expansion Kit is the best and fastest way to explore the capabilities of the SiWx917 in Network Co-Processor (NCP) or Radio Co-Processor (RCP) modes of operation. The SiWG917 SoC Radio Board is designed to work with the wireless Pro Kit mainboard (not included) to support the development of wireless IoT devices based on the SiWG917 ultra-low-power SoC that includes single-band Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth LE 5.4, matter.
