As expenses increase with the use of Ethernet-based sensors and actuators in automation applications, Sensata has integrated IO-Link technology to their encoders and sensors to provide superior accuracy, greater reliability, and enhanced data capabilities. IO-Link is a digital, point-to-point, industrial communication networking standard used for connecting digital sensors and actuators to either an industrial fieldbus or an industrial Ethernet application. It is often recognized as the starting point for implementing Industry 4.0 architectures.

These innovative sensing devices have been built from the ground up for reliability and robustness. With a solid and reliable mechanical and electrical platform, this IO-Link encoder series was created for dependability and toughness. Electrical protection is integrated to reduce first installation errors. Mechanically, the high-precision sealed bearings mean long life, even in harsh conditions. These units are rated to perform from -40°C to +85°C and are offered with a protection level up to IP67, making them the perfect solution in a 58 mm package for heavy-duty industrial use.

Sensata's IO-Link portfolio of encoders and position sensors is based on sensing technology that provides the accuracy and the robustness required in the typical IO-Link applications often found within factory automation, machine tools, production lines, intralogistics, and packaging machinery. The incremental series includes a unique dual output option with incremental channel and absolute value through IO-Link. Radial or axial output orientation, M12 connector or cable output, solid shaft, blind shaft, or through shaft, different shaft sizes, and a complete range of mounting accessories allow for an available solution in any application requirement.
