Raytac’s MDBT50Q-1MV2 module employs Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF52840 aQFN SoC for compact Bluetooth® low energy (BLE), Bluetooth 5.4 ready modules. The module provides a BLE wireless connectivity solution without the RF design expertise needed for space-constrained Internet of Things (IoT), mesh networking, wearables, smart lighting, smart toys, industrial, and healthcare applications. The module has pre-certified certifications including FCC (USA), IC (Canada), RCM (AU and NZ), Telec (Japan), KC (Korea), SRRC (China), NCC (Taiwan), and WPC (India), saving potential certification costs and speeds up time-to-market for end products.
The MDBT50Q-1MV2 module offers a form factor of 10.5 mm x 15.5 mm x 2.05 mm (0.41 inches x 0.61 inches x 0.08 inches) and a high-performance ceramic chip antenna, delivering a wireless connectivity range of over 550 meters in open space and a data rate of 125 Kbps. The output power is adjustable up to +8 dBm, boosting the RF range. For firmware development, the module can be applied to a demo board (MDBT50Q-DB-40).
The nRF52840 SoC, with 1 MB Flash memory and 256 kB RAM, enables the MDBT50Q-1MV2 to provide up to 48 general-purpose input/outputs (GPIOs), as well as supporting SPI, QSPI, UART, I2C, I2S, PDM, PWM, NFC, and USB interfaces for connecting peripherals and sensors. The module is qualified over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The MDBT50Q-1MV2 module offers two other antenna variations, the MDBT50Q-P1MV2 (PCB antenna) and MDBT50Q-U1MV2 (external antenna), as well as a dongle solution with an embedded nRF52840 SoC on the MDBT50Q-RX.
