Universal Case System (UCS)

Phoenix Contact's UCS is an enclosure that aims to give the user design flexibility for all kinds of PCBs. The UCS is targeted for PCBs in embedded systems, but is also able to accommodate other PCB form factors. This electronic enclosure stands out for its flexible PCB attachment and diverse application options.

The modular configuration of the UCS makes it easier for users to find the right enclosure solution for their electronics. The online configurator can be used to construct the right housing components quickly. For applications with a specified PCB, the form factor can be selected. In the future, the customer will be able to specify the size and location for connector cutouts with future configurator enhancements. The wide range of accessories enables further customizations so the system can be perfectly tailored to the application.

The UCS is a housing range to be used beyond the control cabinet and is assigned to the Field Housings product range. The individual housings can also be attached to the DIN rail using adapters. The UCS product development roadmap contains a wide variety of accessories for this enclosure system.

The target group for this enclosure system is a customer who uses an embedded system for a part of their larger system.

The diverse range of applications naturally requires a variety of different PCB layouts. Until now, it was difficult to find an enclosure perfectly suited to an application. The UCS offers a flexible solution and can be used for a broad range of PCB sizes and applications.
