PTCB Series eFuse Circuit Breakers

Phoenix Contact's PTCB series of 24 V_DC circuit breakers are available with eFuse technology for applications with rated currents less than 1 A that are often protected by glass fuses.

For a rated current range greater than 1 A, electronic circuit breakers are a state-of-the-art solution. In the rated current range of less than 1 A, glass fuses are almost exclusively used. Glass fuses require replacement after an overcurrent event and have limited status notification capabilities. For applications with increased availability requirements, electronic circuit breakers are needed.

With PTCB eFuse breakers, small operating currents can be protected electronically, status can be evaluated remotely, triggered channels can be reset, and overcurrents and reverse currents can be prevented. They are available in both normally open (NO) or status-inverted reset (SI-R) options with adjustable or fixed ranges from 0.1 A up to 0.63 A. The ability to bridge the PTCB with Phoenix Contact's CLIPLINE complete portfolio of terminal blocks makes it uniquely flexible for distributing power. Additionally, the 6.2 mm-wide footprint saves space in the control cabinet.

The NO versions have a dry status contact, while the SI-R versions have an inverted status output and reset input. The inverted status output simplifies grouped status signal acquisition, and the remote reset is indispensable for hard-to-access applications. These single-channel electronic PTCB eFuse circuit breakers are the perfect solution for protecting critical loads less than 1 A.
