D6T Thermal Sensor

Omron expands its sensor product line with the addition of the D6T-1A-01, D6T-1A-02, and D6T-8L-09. The 1x1 and 1x8 MEMS thermal sensors are developed for non-contact temperature measurement and human detection.

Joining Omron's existing 4x4 D6T model, the 1x1 and 1x8 models incorporate state-of-the-art MEMS thermopile, custom designed sensor ASIC, and signal processing microprocessor and algorithm into a tiny package. The D6Ts measure the surface temperature of the materials by detecting the intensity of the infrared radiation, and the built-in circuitry eliminates or limits false triggering caused by outside influences and backgrounds.

Because the D6T is tuned to recognize the heat signature of a human wavelength, applications can include stationary or moving human presence detection, power conservation where devices power down when no human presence is detected, and security detection applications.
