SC18IM704 UART to I²C-Bus Bridge

NXP's SC18IM704 is designed to serve as an interface between the standard UART port of a microcontroller or microprocessor and the serial I²C-Bus, allowing the microcontroller or microprocessor to communicate directly with other I²C-Bus devices. The SC18IM704 can operate as an I²C-Bus controller. It controls all the I²C-Bus specific sequences, protocols, arbitration, and timing. The host communicates with the SC18IM704 with ASCII messages protocol, making the control sequences from the host to SC18IM704 very simple.

The SC18IM704-EVB UART-to-I²C serial interface demonstration board is available to demonstrate NXP bridge solutions for serial interface communication between a UART host device and multiple I²C target devices. The modular design allows a simple interface-to-UART port and various I²C target boards through headers.
