PXI Source Measure Unit Bundles

NI’s PXI source measure unit (SMU) bundles each include a PXIe SMU in a five-slot PXI Express-based measurement system controlled through a laptop’s Thunderbolt™ USB-C^® port.

The PXI SMU bundles feature SMUs with four-quadrant operation, ranges up to ±200 V and ±3 A, and sensitivity as low as 100 fA. PXI SMU bundles combine power, precision, and speed into a single instrument. Use the same instrument for both high-power sweeps and low-current measurements. Take advantage of a high-speed update rate and sampling rate to use the instrument in non-traditional ways, such as generating and measuring a waveform.

These modules also include traditional SMU features such as output disconnect relays to isolate the instrument from a circuit, remote sense to compensate for lead drop, and guard to minimize leakage current in small signals. The PXI SMUs are ideal for materials research and parametric test to high-volume production test of RF and mixed-signal ICs.

The remaining four slots can be used to extend a user’s system and manage change. Add measurements, channels, or new analysis routines without purchasing an entirely new instrument.

Users can interactively control an instrument and take their first measurement within minutes with NI’s free software, InstrumentStudio. Alternatively, use the APIs for LabVIEW, C, C# .NET, Python, and other programming languages.
