MIC24097 20 A Synchronous Buck Regulator

Microchip MIC24097 is a high-efficiency integrated FET synchronous buck regulator designed to support up to 20 A of continuous output current. It operates over a wide input voltage range from 4.5 V to 20 V and is optimized for 12 V bus systems. It features an adaptive constant on-time (ACOT) control architecture, which enables fast transient response and minimizes output capacitance requirements.

This regulator includes integrated high-side and low-side N-channel MOSFETs, an internal LDO for single-supply operation, and a programmable switching frequency from 270 kHz to 800 kHz. The output voltage is adjustable from 0.6 V to 12 V, with ±0.5% accuracy over temperature. Additional features such as ripple injection, droop control for adaptive voltage positioning (AVP), and hiccup-mode short-circuit protection make it suitable for demanding power delivery applications.

The MIC24097 is ideal for powering digital loads like FPGAs and ASICs, where tight regulation and fast response are critical. Its compact footprint and integrated features simplify design and reduce BOM cost.
