DSC557-03 PCI Express® Clock Generator

Microchip's DSC557-03 is a crystal-less, two-output PCIe clock generator designed to meet specifications for Gen1, Gen2, Gen3, and Gen4. It uses proven silicon MEMS technology to provide 100 MHz differential output clocks with exceptional jitter performance and stability across a wide range of supply voltages and temperatures. By eliminating the need for an external quartz crystal, the DSC557-03 enhances reliability. It expedites product development while meeting stringent clock performance criteria for a variety of communications, storage, and networking applications.

The device also features an output enable/disable function, allowing it to disable the outputs when OE is low. It is available in two packages: a space-saving 14-pin QFN (which occupies 77% less board space) and a 16-pin TSSOP that serves as a drop-in replacement for the existing ICS557-03 clock. Additionally, the DSC557-03 offers additional LVDS and LVCMOS output formats alongside the default HCSL output format.
