Supporting up to 2 A continuous output current across a wide 4.5 V to 18 V input range, it utilizes a proprietary COT control scheme for superior transient response and stable operation with low ESR ceramic capacitors. The device features selectable PFM and forced PWM modes to optimize either light-load efficiency or output ripple/transient performance, making it suitable for a range of demanding electronic systems.

Protection mechanisms include under-voltage lockout (UVLO), over-current protection (OCP), under-voltage protection (UVP), and thermal shutdown with auto-recovery. The internally compensated error amplifier ensures precise line and load regulation. The MxL76502 is available in a 6-pin SOT23-6L package, enabling space-constrained designs.
