Analog Devices' LTM8053 is a 40 VIN, 3.5 A continuous, 6 A peak step-down (buck) µModule (power module) regulator. This device includes a switching controller, power switches, inductor, and all support components. Operating over an input voltage range of 3.4 V to 40 V, the LTM8053 supports an output voltage range of 0.97 V to 15 V and a switching frequency range of 200 kHz to 3 MHz, each set by a single resistor. Only the input and output filter capacitors are needed to finish the design. The LTM8053-1 can operate in forced continuous mode.
The device comes in a 48-BGA package that has a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. The LTM8053 is ideal for industrial power supplies, wall transformers, and automotive battery applications.
