Trillbit and IA611 SmartMic

Knowles’ IA611 SmartMic always-on audio processor with the integrated TrillConnect SDK from Trillbit features wake-up on Trill-tone detection and decoding of the incoming sonic data stream, encoded with Trillbit’s Data-over-Sound algorithm, with a sample rate of 48 kHz over a 10 ms frame interval and high-performance acoustic SiSonic™ MEMS microphone technology in a miniature top-port package. The IA611 offers flexibility by supporting the most relevant audio and data interfaces. Its integrated programmable DSP with 248 kBytes of RAM of which 8 kBytes are available for customer and third-party algorithms, enabling unlimited creativity. The solution pushes the system performance to ultra-low-power with a custom core design and accelerates time-to-market with a highly integrated combination of hardware, software, and firmware.

The IA611-RDI-01 Xplained Pro development kit is a reference design based on IA611 SmartMic with Trillbit’s TrillConnect SDK for IoT applications. It enables ultra-low-power acoustic Trill-tone detection, sonic data stream encoding, and forwarding of payload data (network credentials) to an embedded processor for network commissioning. TrillConnect enables Trillbit’s secure one-click-to-connect feature for IoT devices. To accelerate prototyping the SmartMic into an IoT application, the AI611 has been integrated with the Microchip SAM D21 Xplained pro MCU board.
